SUMMER PUPS

As many of you in rescue know, Summertime is puppy and kitten season. To most people that sounds exciting, but if you're anything like us it makes you groan. We love puppies! Who doesn't? But we don't love seeing puppies in high-kill facilities already slated for euthanasia at 7 weeks old. That's why we're now on our second batch of Summer pups! We rescued these six Catahoula/Cur mix pups along with their Mom, MJ, from Highlands County Animal Control. They are old enough to be away from Mom now and they are looking for forever homes! Without further adieu, here's your puppy fix:

WHAT IS #GIVINGCHALLENGE16 ?

If you follow us on FacebookTwitter, or Instagram you have probably noticed some new hashtags such as #BeTheOne and #ManateeMillennialsGive dominating every post. These are tags associated with this year's Giving Challenge. The Giving Challenge is a an event defined by 24 full hours of Giving. From September 20th at noon to September 21st at noon, various non-profits in our area of all different categories will be participating in this day of Giving and completing different "challenges" to earn large rewards for their organizations. The Giving Challenge is made possible with the partnership of The Community Foundation of Sarasota and The Patterson Foundation, Manatee Community Foundation, John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, William G. and Marie Selby Foundation, and the Herald-Tribune Media Group.

Social media is vitally important to businesses and non-profits, and we recognize that need. We promote our adoptable dogs and our community events on multiple social media platforms, so be sure to follow us if you haven't already! With the Giving Challenge coming up, there will be plenty of exciting news and events being announced online. If you follow us onInstagram and Twitter, you'll be able to see lots of "extras" that don't make it to our Facebook page. We even have a YouTube channel!
