WHAT IS #GIVINGCHALLENGE16 ?
If you follow us on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram you have probably noticed some new hashtags such as #BeTheOne and #ManateeMillennialsGive dominating every post. These are tags associated with this year's Giving Challenge. The Giving Challenge is a an event defined by 24 full hours of Giving. From September 20th at noon to September 21st at noon, various non-profits in our area of all different categories will be participating in this day of Giving and completing different "challenges" to earn large rewards for their organizations. The Giving Challenge is made possible with the partnership of The Community Foundation of Sarasota and The Patterson Foundation, Manatee Community Foundation, John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, William G. and Marie Selby Foundation, and the Herald-Tribune Media Group. Social media is vitally important to businesses and non-profits, and we recognize that need. We promote our adoptable dogs and our community events on multiple social media platforms, so be sure to follow us if you haven't already! With the Giving Challenge coming up, there will be plenty of exciting news and events being announced online. If you follow us on Instagram and Twitter, you'll be able to see lots of "extras" that don't make it to our Facebook page. We even have a YouTube channel!
